Trump Threatens Destruction of Iran
During a press conference, Trump described the deadline as “final” and warned that failure to reach an agreement could result in severe military action. He stated that Iran’s power plants and key infrastructure could be targeted and destroyed if the deal is not finalized before midnight.
Trump noted that negotiations are currently underway, claiming that certain individuals within Iran are actively engaging and willing to reach an agreement. He added that talks with potential new leadership figures are progressing positively and that several countries are mediating to facilitate a ceasefire and diplomatic resolution.
Reflecting on previous negotiations, Trump said both sides were close to a deal but it ultimately collapsed. He claimed that, following that breakdown, he ordered a strike on a major Iranian bridge, which was carried out rapidly.
The U.S. President expressed hope that military action would not be necessary this time. However, he reiterated that large-scale destruction remains an option, warning that Iran’s entire infrastructure could be severely damaged within a short period if tensions escalate.
Trump further claimed that rebuilding such infrastructure could take Iran decades, possibly up to 100 years, while even partial recovery might require at least 20 years.
