47 Dead, 117 Injured as Heavy Rains Cause House Collapses
According to official reports, in the past four days alone, 21 people have died and 40 have been injured in rain-related incidents. Since March 25, continuous rainfall has caused significant damage across the province.
Among the deceased are 27 children, 13 men, and 7 women, highlighting the severe impact on vulnerable populations. The injured include 45 men, 21 women, and 51 children.
The rains have also caused extensive property damage, affecting a total of 652 houses. Of these, 554 houses were partially damaged, while 98 were completely destroyed.
The affected districts include Bannu, Abbottabad, Mardan, Bajaur, Hangu, Mohmand, Kohat, North Waziristan, Peshawar, Khyber, Nowshera, Dera Ismail Khan, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Shangla, Battagram, Lower Kohistan, Mansehra, Torghar, Swat, Upper Dir, Charsadda, Buner, Malakand, Lower Dir, Orakzai, South Waziristan, and Tank.
Authorities including PDMA, Rescue 1122, and district administrations are actively engaged in relief and rescue operations, working in coordination to assist affected communities.
