div>Petrol Dealers Threaten Nationwide Shutdown
Addressing a press conference, Chairman Samii Khan stated that the rising prices of petroleum products have significantly increased operational costs, making it difficult for dealers to sustain their businesses.
He emphasized that the government has kept dealer margins too low despite continuous fuel price hikes. “If our margins are not increased, we will be left with no option but to shut down petrol pumps,” he warned, adding that failure to meet their demands could lead to a nationwide strike.
Meanwhile, association leader Humayun Khan said that government policies have severely impacted the petrol pump business. He noted that while fuel prices have gone up, dealer margins remain unchanged, pushing many businesses toward closure.
He further cautioned that if the situation persists, petrol pumps may start shutting down automatically due to unsustainable operations.
