JD Vance Returns Without Deal
Addressing a press briefing in Islamabad, Vance stated that despite extensive discussions, both sides failed to reach a final deal. He emphasized that the United States had presented what it considered a “best and final offer,” but Iran chose not to accept the proposed terms.
“We engaged in good faith and clearly outlined our red lines,” Vance said. “While progress was made in discussions, we could not reach a point where Iran agreed to our conditions.”
“The Iranian nuclear program remains our top priority. Iran must provide guarantees that it has no intention of developing nuclear weapons,” he added.
He further revealed that the U.S. delegation remained in close contact with President Donald Trump throughout the process, working under his directive to secure a deal. However, the talks ultimately ended without success.
“We made every effort to reach an agreement, but unfortunately, no deal could be finalized,” Vance concluded.
