Toxic Milk Racket Exposed
According to officials from the Punjab Food Authority, a raid was conducted in Sultan Colony under special instructions from the Director General. The food safety team, led by the Director of Operations (South-1), successfully exposed a factory involved in manufacturing artificial milk using hazardous chemicals.
During the operation, approximately 14,750 liters of fake milk were destroyed on the spot. Authorities also confiscated 1,700 kilograms of powder, 300 kilograms of vegetable fat, and heavy machinery used in the production process.
Officials revealed that the seized materials were enough to produce over 100,000 liters of counterfeit milk. The chemically contaminated product was reportedly being supplied to suburban areas, posing a serious public health risk.
A case has been registered against the factory owner, and further investigations are underway.
The Director General of the Punjab Food Authority stated that those involved in adulterating essential food items like milk are “enemies of public health” and will not be given any leniency.
