Imran Khan Named Prime Accused in Foreign Funding Case
According to sources, the charge sheet is expected to be submitted in court by tomorrow. The case marks a significant development involving the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
The report states that a total of 11 individuals have been nominated in the case, with Imran Khan identified as the central figure. Other individuals named include Tariq Shafi and Hamid Zaman, among others.
Sources further revealed that three suspects have been declared absconders, including Arif Naqvi and Tariq Rahim Sheikh.
The FIA charge sheet alleges that around 1,800 transactions were made into PTI accounts from various countries worldwide. These funds were reportedly received under the name “Naya Pakistan.” Authorities claim that the accused are involved in illegal funding amounting to approximately $2.1 million.
Additionally, it is stated that a company named Wootton Cricket Limited also transferred $2.1 million to PTI accounts.
