Pakistan’s Future in Space: PM Meets Astronauts Selected for Human Space Mission
The meeting was also attended by astronaut attaché Hasnain Iftikhar from SUPARCO, along with key federal officials including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, and SUPARCO Chairman Muhammad Yousuf Khan. Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong was also present.
Expressing his delight, the Prime Minister congratulated the young astronauts and termed their selection a moment of pride for the entire nation. He described their participation in space research as a historic milestone and said he was confident they would write a new chapter in Pakistan’s history.
“You have achieved this position through dedication and hard work, which is commendable,” the Prime Minister said, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence.
Highlighting Pakistan-China cooperation, he noted that the mission—facilitated through China—would further strengthen the longstanding bilateral relationship and open new avenues in space exploration. He added that joint efforts in space research would elevate the friendship between the two countries to new heights.
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong welcomed the Prime Minister’s remarks and appreciated the growing collaboration between Pakistan and China in the field of space science.
Speaking on the occasion, the astronauts said it was a great honor to represent Pakistan in space research. They pledged to work tirelessly and live up to the expectations of the nation.
