48-Year Legal Dispute Ends as Evacuee Trust Property Board Seals Commercial Property
The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has taken official possession of a commercial property in Pind Dadan Khan after the conclusion of a legal dispute that lasted nearly 48 years.
The operation was carried out in compliance with the decision issued by the Federal Secretary for the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on June 17, 2026. Acting on the directives of ETPB Chairman Qamar uz Zaman and Gujranwala Zonal Administrator Arman Jalal, officials sealed the evacuee trust property located at Kashmir Chowk, Khewra Road, Pind Dadan Khan.
The property, recorded under Khasra No. 514 (current), 209 (previous) and measuring 11 kanal and 9 marlas, was taken into government custody following decades of litigation.
During the operation, authorities sealed more than 18 commercial shops built on the property. Officials estimated the property's value at over PKR 140 million (14 crore).
The operation was supervised by Muhammad Ishaq, Deputy Administrator of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, Gujrat, with the assistance of the local police. Members of the field staff, including rent collectors, property inspectors, and revenue officials, also participated in the operation, while local police provided full security and support to ensure its successful completion.
Officials described the action as a significant step toward reclaiming government-owned evacuee trust properties after prolonged legal proceedings.
